Another readily-grown, summer dormant, winter growing Moraea from South Africa.
This makes a single leaf but branched stems 15-30cm tall each of which carries a comparatively large flower of bright yellow. Some are overlaid with green, other with both orange and green. Our stock consists of unsorted colour forms and contains both forms and intermediates. all of which are lovely. The intensity of the yellow isn’t often encountered in the genus.
Readily grown if given a fertile, well drained, loam-based compost and a dry but not over-severe summer rest. This does well both in pots and in the Mediterranean garden.
