Description
This has small, dense heads of bright, deep blue, obovoid flowers each little globular tube with a ring on the mouth, composed of six small white teeth. They are held in a short, very compacted spike.
The leaves are just 5-10 cm long (depending on light and vigour) and 4-6mm wide only. They are glaucous with a central pale stripe.
This is a high-altitude (alpine) species found above 1,500m and endemic to a small area of Turkey around Denizli.
First found by (and named for) Eugène Bourgeau, in Turkey in 1860, this is material raised from JJA.688.500.
