Description
(formerly Narcissus eugeniae)
Glaucous blue-green leaves which are only 5cm long at flowering time. Above the leaves are held good sized flowers on very short stems.
The petals are bright sulphur yellow whilst the tube is deep gold. The combination of these with the lovely leaf colouring is wonderful.
Native to the mountains around Valencia and originally thought to be endemic to this province, however it is now known from Córdoba province, the Sierra de Cazorla (Jaen), Sierra de Grazalema (Cadiz), Sierra Camarolos and Serranía de Ronda (Malaga ) as well as Granada.
Our current small stock (September 2024 offering onwards) is raised from material traceable to El Espinar, Segovia, Spain (our offerings prior to 2024 were from a stock traceable to the area around Guadalajara).
A wonderful, if rare, addition to our range. Sun with a well-drained soil is all that this lovely miniature asks for.
