Description
This is the genuine and true species, you might term it the “wild type”. It has been vegetatively propagated from plants found in the south of Spain many years ago, it is not one of the virused, commercial stocks which seem to abound in horticulture!
Multi-headed (up to 20 flowers) of pure paper white flowers in early spring with a heady, almost overpowering scent akin to Jasmine or Gardenia.
Well drained loam soil in full sun, preferably in a south facing site for best flowering. You can also grow it under glass, if it has a reasonable root-run, or a decent sized pot, though it will put up with considerable neglect or poor growing conditions (if you don’t want it to flower!)
