Description
Superbly decorative twisting grey leaves coil on the soil surface below a 20 cm stem that can carry up to 20 flowers. These are pristine glistening white with broad white petals and contrasting yellow anthers held inside the shallow white cup.
Recently discovered but introduced aplenty as it sееds early in its “horticultural career”. A restricted native of a very arid area of southern Spain yet remarkably tolerant of bulb frame cultivation. Like many arid land plants it is more than capable of taking a year off (above ground) if moisture is not adequate when root growth starts in the autumn.
