Description
This is an almost legendary species from high altitude in the Atlas Mountains. It bears pristine white, shallow-cupped stars in March-April with the leaves.
Despite its African home this is a snow-melt species and it does not enjoy hot, dry conditions as it is much more attuned to cold, damp ones.
Good in a pot and excellent for showing as it blooms in late March or early April with spring shows. Happy here in a raised, uncovered, bulb frame.
Raised from plants traceable to meadows above the Tizi-n-Tischka pass, (the highest major mountain pass in North Africa) in Morocco at 2,300m.
