Description
A new, very robust, form of this diminutive species, traceable to near Johannesburg. These are cultivated, but it still occurs in a last few places, where high Veldt vegetation remains on a handful of rocky ridges, in the eastern suburbs.
Slender leaves of about 10-15 cm with a slender 15-20 cm stem carrying up to twelve glistening white flowers which flush with the tiniest hint of pink as they age.
The filaments are white but they carry gorgeous violet anthers. The flowers are rapidly followed by decorative red berries, which are present with the flowers, all in all this is a gem.
