Description
This strain was originally received, as seed, from China some years ago as a “tall form of aperta” and that, quite simply is what it appears to be. It has all the grace of that species and flowers that fall with the range of variability of that plant also, but it is much more robust and taller. In flower it is closest to the CLD.229 forms.
Stems from 15-50 cm tall with graceful spikes of one to several pale rose-pink, nodding flowers with scattered purple spotting across the interior of the flower, becoming more like spickling in the centre of the widely open blooms. The exterior of the flower is deep dusky madder and makes a superb contrast in the bud.
Distinct from the ‘old’ form of cultivation and very lovely. These are nice bulbs grown from seed of the original importation.
