Description
Smooth broad leathery leaflets looking like green pewter are held on red stems below superb bowls of rose-pink purple flowers early in the year. These have a very attractive yellow centre. The foliage is sub-divided into heart-shaped segments with wavy edges.
A very attainable species from Spain that grows at relatively high altitudes in open, sunny places. On the slow side to make large plants, but not difficult and so distinct that it more than merits attention.
Our plants stem from seed collected in the environs of Alhama de Granada, S. Spain and distributed by Will McClewin.
