Description

We have kept this stock separate as it is pedigree material raised from seed collected in China some years ago by Carle Teune of Leiden Botanical Gardens

The species is variable and this seed-strain seems mostly to have attractive, large pink flowers (but this varies so that the pink colouration is not always the case!) over leaves that are nicely bronzed and marbled on emergence. Flowering is in April and May and the plant later yields an attractive red fruit which hangs below the leaves. Please note that the flower colour and the intensity of the white/pink varies with time and between seedlings.

Easy. Best in a humus-enriched soil in part shade, but tolerant enough to take full sun as long as it does not dry out at the roots.

for UK customers ONLY

NOT available for EU, Japan, Norway, Switzerland, U.S.A. etc. Podophyllum hexandrum is the only CITES registered Podophyllum (no other species are affected). These are no longer shipped outside of the UK because of the high cost and excessive bureaucracy associated with CITES permits.
