Description
This has a flexuous stem, with leaves arranged in small whorls up the stem. Each leaf has a crisped margin and ends in curling tendrils which hook onto adjacent plants.
There are up to five flowers borne in each leaf axil; these are 8 mm tubes of white with recurved tips. Each bloom has a delicious hint of pink which infuses the flower from the base.
This is one of the nicer cirrhose species, medium sized and very graceful with us, but a valuable addition to the garden where the seemingly trivial botanical differences from its nearest relatives, add up to yield a unique appearance.
Happy in a fertile soil in light shade where it can slowly clump and bring you not only attractive little flowers, but conspicuous purple-speckled, red autumnal fruits.
