Description

This is a new stock which we are finding a little more vigorous here than the one we used to offer (GW.803) collected by C. Grey-Wilson in 1973 in alpine meadows in Nepal.

A miniature, alpine species, which slowly makes tidy clumps with 10-15 cm stems, clothed in narrow grass-thin leaves with lovely miniature pink, scented flowers, followed by pink berries in autumn. Clearly close to Polygonatum hookeri, but this one is taller with more flowers (which are borne more freely as well) and narrower leaves spread up the stem.

Easily grown but it is small and thus needs careful siting if it is to be seen. (our picture shows the plant soon after emergence, it becomes taller and more typical with a little time)
