Description

A widespread species in the wild, ranging from the UK across Eurasia to Japan. This species is as tolerant as it is wide-ranging. This horticultural stock came originally, from sand dunes near Tenellaplas in the Netherlands.

The tough stems, with a triangular cross-section and a ribbed cross-section, seldom exceed 30 cm here and the upper half has flowers in each leaf axil. These are white, tipped with green, and as the name implies, they are delightfully fragrant as you might have guessed from the name. Comparatively large, blue berries follow the flowers, in the autumn.

Easily pleased, non-aggressive, never a weed and a useful and attractive little plant.
