Description
The plants offered are the true species. They should not be confused with Roscoea scillifolia (which used to be known {wrongly} in horticulture as alpina!)
Ours is the real Roscoea alpina which is a superb dwarf species but with virtually full-sized flowers. These are of deep rich purple. (the impostors are pink or almost black).
The species is one of the earliest to flower here and blooms appear early in the summer with broad purple-violet lips. Fully hardy here in a sunny, peaty spot.
