This is a very “growable” species with large, well-presented flowers of good form and with a superb colouring in an intense shade of violet-purple. The lip is very broad and noticeable, with slight frilling and a few, short, thin white lines at the base where it is covered by a white hood or cap.
In addition it has a particularly large and strong root system and makes good growth and increase. Adores a sunny, well-drained but seasonally moist soil with plenty of humus. This is perfection but this is a very tolerant and easy species.
