Description
Roscoea beesiana is a garden hybrid between cautleyoides and auriculata. The wide cross may have flowers of white, pale cream or yellow with a yellow lip varyingly shot with violet veining and spotting.
This fertile hybrid plant is variable but from the stocks selections have been made (not by ourselves) in which the flowers are pale cream. Though sometimes seen offered as ‘white’ we feel that ‘cream’ is a better description of the colour, regardless of which, this is a gorgeous plant and one with only the slightest hint of pink colouring present – at the tip of the hood when the plant ages. This has the size of auriculata combined with the colouring of cautleyoides.
Vigorous, reaching 30-35 cm and suitable both for peat garden and general garden use.
