Description
(Othocallis)
A lovely species which has the general overall shape of Scilla siberica, but this Caucasian species has larger flowers and more of them on each compact raceme and they are of an especially intense and attractive blue. This stock, originally from south eastern Armenia is typical for the species and sets reasonable seed here. The original collection from which it was raise is noted as AZAR 09-18 but I have no further details than this.
A lovely mountain plant very hardy and well worthy of cultivation. Happy in a sunny, well-drained spot in the open garden where it revels in a humus-rich, but well-drained soil, with us.
