Description
Early in March this suddenly erupts from the ground, unfurls and flowers – the characteristic behaviour of a snowmelt plant.
The flowers are large for a Scilla and vivid blue with a white throat, resembling a small blue Erythronium. This one likes sun or shade, but revels in moisture in spring and as cold a winter as possible.
