Description
A horizontal creeping rhizome makes a 30-40 cm tall stem with very broad glossy leaves which alternate up to the terminal flower spike. This holds closely packed and slightly honey-fragrant star shaped flowers in a tight, candle-like elongated cluster. (technically a slightly branched panicle)
Easily grown in light woodland conditions -a well drained, leafy or peaty, soil in half shade.
An attractive new introduction.
