Description
This makes masses of flowers in raceme after raceme, each with 5 to 15 white, starry blooms atop a 30 cm stem. After flowering, towards autumn, you can expect red berries which are striped with black prior to ripening.
A good architectural plant making a good contrast to other “woodlanders” as the stems are slender and rigid, and not arching as in, for example, Polygonatum. This makes vigorous slender rhizomes which are very tolerant of winter wet.
A charming plant for leafy soil in light shade but taking full sun in a moist border.
Raised from material found in Montana, USA, 1500m alt. in 1978.
