Description
A gorgeous species with white or pale pink petals with a magenta halo surrounding the yellow anthers.
Trillium undulatum is an uncommon inhabitant of cool, moist, acidic mountain woodlands. For cultivation it is best to add copious amounts of coarse acid peat, pine or fir needles, conifer bark, bracken or decayed sawdust when planting. The soil should be wet but well drained and above all acidic. The addition of weak vinegar to irrigation water is said to be beneficial in areas with hard or limey water, though we do not do this and it does seem a bit excessive!
Stunningly beautiful and of unique appearance, this plant is easy but intolerant of both drought and lime.
