Description
This is the true wild species from Kyrgyzstan and not one of the numerous garden hybrids. It is the very first to bloom, often as early as February when it makes good-sized, white flowers, heavily overlaid on the exterior with cherry pink stripes. Inside the flower there is an egg-yolk yellow star in the throat.
Likes sunshine and good drainage but a very robust and hardy small species.
A reliable plant both with blooms and with growth but it is very slow with its offsets, this is a seed-raised stock from wild seed.
