Description
This is a section Allium species, with coarse-reticulate tunics and a tall stem 50-60 cm tall with tubular leaves. Umbels are dense balls comprising many light, grey-blue flowers. (not as bright as Allium caesium!)
From the western Tien-Shan. A rare species which I have never seen commercially offered. Spectacular and the bluest of the big ball-headed species. It dislikes any excessive moisture starting from flowering and will not thrive in the open garden.
