Description

A recently described species of section Allium. It is a graceful plant with thread-like leaves and a slender, 20 cm long, scape. The umbel is very dense with up to 12 flowers of pale violet-blue each with darker violet-blue mid-veins. Related to, but far rarer than, Allium scabriflorum.

This has only been tried in pots so far and outside it will need attention to good drainage and a fertile, summer dry soil.

Described from near Lake Beyshehir in S. Anatolia. This naturally makes very small bulbs.
