Description
A stately species, which flowers even when young, though at a lesser height. It carries a dense round ball-head of flowers atop a (30)-60-70 cm stem. The flowers are light pinkish-violet but each petal has a darker central stripe. The effect of both the individual flowers and the ball head is spectacular.
Easy, well-drained, sunny spot preferably dry in summer, but garden-dryness rather than baked-silly-dryness.
