Description
(syn. kunthii)
The second of our new Mexican species this has a beautiful flower head in which the two sets of petals, in each flower, form triangles, each set at 180 degrees to each other – it is very characteristic. The petals are stiff, white and slightly crispy in texture, and though these are white the tips and edges of many are wine red, lending a gorgeous appearance where this happens.
The species is variable and has been raised from wild seed, so we cannot guarantee colouring but even paler forms are very worthy.
A lovely plant, easily grown in a well drained sunny spot with good drainage and an appropriate dry period.
