Description
This is an evergreen plant with 12-15 cm long leaves with a gorgeous matt surface which can be unmarked or patterned, if the latter then this is with a wide variety of silver and gray markings.
The flowers are deep imperial purple with each of the lobes ‘split’ about half way across and half way down, in the centre, making this look as if it has six petal lobes.
A vigorous and easily grown species from Japan where it is said to be widespread. An easily pleased and exceptional garden plant.
