Description
Beautifully mottled, zoned and clouded, strongly heart-shaped leaves, each 10-12cm long, by 6-8cm wide are made in abundance on clumps that can reach 30cm across in time (and if left undivided)!.
Below sit clustered, almost globular flowers of pale jade green, as this is an alba form of the species. The plant is native to Kyushu, in Japan.
Not difficult under standard conditions for the genus, in a well -drained but humus-rich, fertile compost in part shade and this seems to do quite well when grown outside. However it is also happy grown under alpine glass if you prefer to have undamaged foliage and pristine flowers.
Introduced to our lists December 2019
