Description
A rare member of the Crown Imperial group, the species itself is very seldom offered though it is now becoming slowly more well-known.
Tall stems, up to 1 m (although usually less), with an abundance of flowers. in the unselected species these flowers are in shades of reds, oranges and yellows (sometimes infused and lined with orange-red) but in this unusual and very distinct clonal form, the flowers are strongly inclined towards a lovely, warm brown shade which derives from show-through from the deep brown throat and nectaries, visible when you look inside the flower.
As with other forms of F. eduardii, the ‘foxy’ smell associated with Crown Imperials is much fainter and many cannot even detect it.
