Description
An outstanding dwarf species from the Zagros Mountains of Iran where it grows as a snow-melt species at very high altitudes.
In cultivation (when you have the good fortune to even see it) it retains its delightful dwarf habit yet still manages to cram each of its stems with up to three, burnished, red-brown bells tipped with yellow.
Excellent in a pot in the alpine house but can be managed equally easily outside, in well-drained soil, in full sun, carefully sited so that it can be seen.
