Description

When this was first found it was the only known snowdrop to combine yellow tips to the inner segment with a normally-coloured, green ovary. In this feature it is quite unlike the yellow cultivars derived from the Sandersii group of nivalis. The yellow mark on the inner segments can incline towards bronze, rather than lemon yellow. This change does seem to be associated with transplanting or disturbance and we find that in the first year the yellow area can even turn green, in the next year it may be either bronzed or clear yellow, thereafter, it is yellow.

This is pleasantly vigorous, increasing well and given patience, it will display its excellent colouring regularly.

Originally found in an old cemetery at Burscheid near Cologne by Nicolas Top in 1977, it was introduced to the UK in 1993.
