Description

Considered to be nivalis x plicatus this is large-flowered, with an almost straight spathe. The elongated, slender outer segments bear several thin green hairlines of green along the veins especially towards the tips and an ephemeral green shading infuses the flowers towards the ovary.

The inners are broadly marked in green and this shades from pale at the base to become darker and more defined towards the apex. John Morley’s comment that is has a “wonderful, soft-green glow” perfectly describes this clone.

As this establishes, it starts to bear two of its notably tall scapes to each bulb.

Found by the late David and Ruby Baker in Ireland in 1995.
