Description

Hepatica Sennin has six, almost circular, very broad outer petals of pure glistening white, which wrap around each other and overlap to form a very shallow cup. In the centre of this sits a small, loose rosette of small, spoon shaped white petals with the tiniest flush of cherry-red towards their tips which develops only with maturity.

The beauty of the flower lies in the fact that between the two whorls is a tiny rosette of short, intensely coloured deep cherry red petals. The colour combination and the resulting contrast is simply amazing. The cherry red is picked up again in the very centre of the flower where a tiniest, second cherry red rosette become visible with age. In effect the inner white and red cherry coloured whorl is like a smaller, repeat of the outer one.

To see this one is to love it. (Please note this is not ‘Sennin Buraku‘, which is a different clone.)
