Description
In a word, magnificent. Large flowers, up to 10 cm across on very dwarf stems. Falls veined with warm red-brown with a purplish beard. The standards are erect, cream to pale yellow, only very faintly veined. The leaves are glaucous and slightly curved.
This enjoys shallow planting in a very fertile, but sharply-drained soil. In summer it likes a hot dry rest and in winter protection from excessively damp conditions will aid growth. It is traditionally grown under glass in the UK with the provision of good air-circulation in the winter.
As we have several inter-fertile but self-sterile clonal stocks, we may offer different stocks each year. The description remains the same for each species only the clone may vary.
