Description

The 4 cm falls are small compared to the standards, but of delicious purple with a dense beard of black-purple. The standards are large, to 10 cm, white densely dotted and strongly veined violet-blue all over. The whole plant is only 10-20 cm tall.

Well-drained sunny spot, dry in summer.

As we have several inter-fertile but self-sterile clonal stocks, we try to offer different stocks each year. The species description remains essentially the same for each only the clone may vary. Tovuz (also know by the clonal name Z-Tovuz) is one such clone, notable for the contrast between the violet-blue veins and the paler background on the standards. The town of Tovus, to where this clone is originally traceable, is in the extreme west of Azerbaijan near to both the Georgian and Armenian borders.
