Description
A historical hybrid between Iris aucheri (SINDjarensis) and Iris PERSica with superb flowers in a gorgeous shade of turquoise crested in orange. The colour has been likened to the shade of the Mediterranean shallows and spring skies!
It enchants all who are fortunate enough to see this increasingly rare, but very lovely dwarf plant which is ideal for pot culture.
Raised at the Van Tubergen nursery, at Haarlem in the Netherlands by Mr J.M.C Hoog in the late 19th century and perhaps the first recorded artificial (horticultural) Iris hybrid.
