Description
This was discovered by Erich Pasche in Turkey, many years ago. It was revisited in 1983 and this stock has been raised from that find which was originally in The Bolu province of northwest Turkey, in the Yedigoeller Range, in mixed deciduous forest at 1300m.
It is distributed as AHEP.8313 This strain contains both vegetative increase and seedlings. It is a pure stock however.
This is a variable and vigorous strain but a picture is of little help as it is impossible to show all of the different green shades and inner perianth markings, in one photo. It is named Bolu Shades to emphasise that it comes in many shades. Our picture shows just ONE form. We do not have any selections available for any colours or forms, this is a mixed and variable stock but of a pure strain.
It differs from other G. plicatus forms in its short scapes, which rarely exceed 12-15cm when fully developed though it will be a bit taller in any kind of shade. It is late flowering.
