Description

(plicatus E. A. Bowles)

A superb plant plant first found at Myddelton House, Enfield in the garden of plantsman E. A. Bowles. This has large poculiform flowers, in which each of the six petals is shaped like the outer petals. The mutated inners lack any trace of green as well as being much bigger than normal.  Huge, parasol flowers hang gracefully over sturdy growths and being a form of G. plicatus it is not only large but the flowers present over beautifully glaucous, broad, pleated foliage as well.

Always in demand as it really is so strikingly beautiful, however vegetative increase can be frustratingly slow and it is only of recent years that it has really become available and even then availability is only in small numbers.
